Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh): On Friday, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan instructed officials to hold a massive statewide drug rehabilitation program on October 2.

He said a message should be given to the public through the program that intoxication was the root of destruction.

He said, “The campaign is not for a week but it should go on forever. Ensure the active participation of the various departments and companies associated with the campaign,” he told officials.

CM’s instructions came during the performance review of the Department of Social Justice and Disability Welfare in Mantralaya.

Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Manoj Govil and other department officers were present.

CM also said that a roadmap should be prepared to hold mass weddings by setting the dates under Mukhyamantri Kanya Vivah/Nikah Yojana. He said the task of providing a pension after a hundred percent physical verification of beneficiaries of all pension schemes should be taken seriously.

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY: Reviewing the work of science and technology, the CM said science, technology and innovation policy should be prepared promptly and submitted to the cabinet. He said: “A single citizen database should be prepared by December 2022 at all costs, so that citizens can benefit from it. Preparations should also be made to create a single service delivery portal by April 2023.” CM said that according to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s intention, drone technology should be promoted.

He said land should be identified in Bhopal, Indore and Dewas for the establishment of new IT parks. More and more young people should be connected to employment in TCS, Infosys, Impetus etc.

RESEARCH ON THE VEDIC WAY OF LIFE: Reviewing the work of the Department of Religious Trust and Endowments, CM said a roadmap should be prepared after taking the advice of experts to advance research on the way of life of Vedic life. Maintenance and use of Dharamshalas should be better. They should be listed. The upkeep of government maintained temples should also be better. CM said that after preparing an action plan under the Mukhyamantri Teerth Darshan Yojna, the program should be corrected. “Eligible people from all regions should benefit. An action plan should be prepared to benefit the regime even on the plane. Various important places are expected to be added as part of the scheme.
