Working under broad general direction, the role of Digital Campaign Specialist is responsible for implementing, optimizing and reporting related to Flinders University’s student recruitment campaigns.

This role is responsible for connecting paid media campaigns, automation, and website, to achieve student recruitment goals and activities that align with broader marketing and communications strategies and campaigns. to deliver measurable results in line with key University goals in Agenda 2025.

The role will implement innovative ideas and technologies that understand and drive user journeys through personalization and automated communications, including integration with CRM, Marketo and Adobe Experience Manager.

Main responsibilities of the position

Working in collaboration with the Digital Marketing Innovation team and the extended marketing team, the Digital Campaigns Specialist is responsible for:

  • Develop, implement and manage digital marketing and social media campaigns to support marketing campaigns, events and positive news to help raise the profile of the University and deliver measurable results in line with objectives keys to the University in the 2025 Agenda. This includes a strong focus on student recruitment, brand and event.
  • Act as an intermediary between teams to implement a fully integrated approach to branding and student recruitment related campaigns. This will include developing and implementing paid media campaigns, implementing automation campaigns to support lead generation and development, and working with the website team to assess campaign performance and implement conversion rate optimization (CRO) to improve student recruitment campaigns.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, external agencies and College marketing roles to plan, implement and improve digital campaigns and search engine optimization.
  • Provide ongoing campaign reporting and monitoring to achieve digital reach, audience, engagement and conversion KPIs, as well as formulate and implement recommendations for campaign optimization in relation to recruitment and to other University targets.
  • Work with the Social Media and Digital Marketing Coordinator, identify opportunities for native social media content, including campaign integration.
  • Implement strategies and develop digital marketing campaigns that generate leads and nurture relationships with external stakeholders, including prospective students and leveraging marketing automation and personalization technologies (Marketo and Adobe Target) that comply with approved guidelines and policies and integrate with the University’s CRM.
  • Keep abreast of digital and content trends, algorithms and platforms to lead and advise on innovative digital solutions for the University. This includes privacy and platform changes and the ability to capture data.
  • Work in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) to create innovative, accurate and engaging landing pages, microsites and other digital platform solutions to integrate with major campaigns and initiatives, with a focus on data capture and conversion rate optimization.
  • In collaboration with the Creative Studio, creating engaging digital content options.
  • Preparing copy for digital marketing across a range of channels and platforms.
  • Work with external digital agencies to deliver effective campaigns that drive ROI and achieve goals, including student recruitment.
  • Any other responsibilities related to the level of the position assigned by the supervisor and/or the University.

Capabilities of the key position

  • Advanced degree in marketing or related field or demonstrated equivalent skills and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability in delivering creative and innovative integrated marketing campaigns across online channels that produce measurable results with a focus on student recruitment.
  • Experience delivering and providing advice on best practice principles and standards for digital content and targeting on digital marketing platforms.
  • Solid knowledge of SEO, SEM, content marketing, conversion rate optimization, marketing automation, retargeting, analytics and reporting (including Google Analytics, social reporting and country).
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as work collaboratively within a team, exercise initiative, judgment and develop problem-solving skills while interpreting and applying relevant policies and procedures .
  • Experience working with creative and media buying agencies.
  • Experience implementing lifecycle marketing campaigns for known and unknown prospects. using first-party data, marketing automation and other 1:1 engagement tools, including reporting on analytics and the interpretation and application of relevant policies and procedures.
  • Experience in developing engaging and personalized web and digital content suitable for various audiences through the development and understanding of customer journey maps.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize workload to meet deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising results.
  • Highly developed written, oral and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels and to prepare correspondence, briefs and other documents.
  • A commitment to excellence and the principles of continuous improvement and the ability to develop and implement plans, measure results and report on potential improvements for the future.
  • Experience working with automation and CMS platforms required, experience with Marketo and Adobe Experience Manager is desirable.
  • An understanding of the Australian higher education sector is desirable.
