Uchenna Nnaji, the All Progressives Congress candidate for governor in Enugu state, said on Sunday that the party’s current dilemma was caused by the financing of the state’s election campaign.Nigeria Information Guide
Nnaji suggested delaying APC presidential candidate Bola Tinubu’s planned campaign funding until after the election if it made the party unstable. He made the suggestion during an emergency meeting of stakeholders convened at the party’s southeast zone office.
“The current crisis in Enugu APC is about Tinubu’s campaign money. The so-called stakeholders are fighting to be in control and to preside over the disbursement of Tinubu’s money.

“We do not want the campaign money of All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu to proceed with the 2023 general elections in Enugu State. By the special grace of God, we will use the resources of Enugu APC to continue the elections in 2023 and after the elections the party will reimburse us. It is Tinubu’s money that is causing the Enugu APC crisis.
“After this emergency meeting, I will go to Abuja tomorrow (Monday) to tell the national chairman of the party that we don’t want any campaign funds. On Tuesday, I will meet our presidential candidate, Tinubu and tell him the same.
Nnaji, however, urged ‘Abuja stakeholders’ to return home and work with him to rally party supporters at the local level so that the party can win the elections.
“This is unprecedented in the history of the party in the state and shows how ready we are to not only contest elections, but to win,” he said.
“We want to be small but efficient. we woke up and delivered on the promise of a brighter future for our people.
“Our leaders who want Agballah removed were not even paying for their neighborhood offices in the communities. Now we have come to make the system work again and they want us removed. Our leaders are doing well and deserve all the support they need. No other party can embark on the kind of tour we embarked on.LEG Result
