Ideal Motors launches blood donation campaign


The Ideal Motors Wellness Committee recently organized a blood donation drive to help critically ill patients regain good health.

The Ideal Motors Central Workshop program in Ratmalana marked the inauguration of Ideal Motors and Founder’s Day, the birthday of Nalin Welgama, the company’s founding chairman, who fell on September 5.

The Ideal Motors Wellness Committee and staff coordinated the campaign for the seventh consecutive year.

Over the past few years, the Corporate Wellness Committee has engaged in a series of social service initiatives.

Among these programs was the donation of washing machines and trash cans to the base hospital in Mulleriyawa. The equipment was presented by President Nalin Welgama.

Six laptops were presented to the Cardiology Unit of Colombo National Hospital, to record patient data. Ideal Motors has also provided the Ministry of Health with a stock of personal protective clothing and accessories needed by frontline health service personnel.

Company staff delivered the items to ministry officials at Gangarama Temple in Colombo. A fully equipped ambulance was also handed over to the Madura Vithana Foundation. Several other commendable social welfare programs have also been undertaken by the Society, such as the implementation of a drinking water project for 1,500 affected families in the Namalpura area of ​​Anuradhapura district.
