QATAR. Qatar Airways is celebrating Chinese New Year next week with a campaign running on board flights, in lounges and in Qatar Duty Free stores.
All passengers traveling on Qatar Airways to and from China, Hong Kong, Malaysia and Singapore on January 31 and February 1 will be greeted with a red “hóngbāo” envelope containing a free Super Wi-Fi code, as well as food and party treats. . Travelers transiting through Hamad International Airport will enjoy an exclusive 22% discount on Qatar Duty Free when shopping at perfume and cosmetics stores.
The Year of the Tiger celebrations will extend to passengers in the Al Safwa First and Al Mourjan business lounges at Hamad International, where they can enjoy a reunion dinner and sample traditional dishes from the Lunar New Year menu.
Premium cabin passengers onboard will be offered a Golden Mandarin Mule soft drink as well as special dishes from a bespoke à la carte menu. Dishes will be presented with red lanterns on the dining table and complemented with Chinese knot tassel and red band.
Economy class passengers during this period can choose a meal from the digital “Lunar New Year” menu, presented on a themed tray mat with chopsticks and a red cutlery strip that symbolizes prosperity and good fortune.
