Bridgewater Retirement CommunityThe BRC Foundation has launched the public final phase of a $4.5 million fundraising campaign to improve and energize healthy living at Bridgewater Retirement Community.

With 95% of the ambitious fundraising target already pledged, BRC expects to meet and exceed the target by this fall.

“To be happy and fulfilled, I need more than a nice apartment and good food,” says BRC resident Janina Greene. “I am deeply grateful for the openness of the BRC team to listen and hear our voices, in order to increase and improve the opportunities for us to live with energy for life until the end!”

The LiveWell campaign builds on the progress BRC has made over the past decade and takes programming for residents and team members to new heights.

The campaign identifies several funding priorities:

Energized Living Fund

This new fund expands innovative programming to enrich the lives of residents at all levels of life at BRC. From expanded access to the visual and performing arts, to lecture series or additional wellness classes and amenities, the possibilities are endless.

fund working well

The Work Well Fund helps BRC invest in the personal and professional success of its team members through scholarships, emergency financial assistance, welfare benefits, and more.

Community Outreach Fund

BRC has always been an active member and contributor to the greater community. This new fund expands outreach and volunteer efforts to support healthy aging throughout the Shenandoah Valley.

Family Endowment Forever

The Forever Family Endowment supports operations at assisted living and nursing homes for residents who have exhausted their financial resources.

Endowment for spiritual life

This endowment supports the work of BRC chaplains, Lantz Chapel operations, spiritual enrichment programming, and the spiritual care training program for team members.

“More than ever, we recognize the importance of the well-being of the whole person,” said President Rodney Alderfer. “Thanks to the construction and renovation projects of the past few years, our residents have the physical environment they need. Now we are turning our attention to animating what is happening in this environment, so that each person is supported to live the best possible quality of life.
